Is Playboy Going to Pull March's Issue with Jessica Alba?

Author: Veronica Kettler

Big Screen Celebrity Jessica Alba put demands on the infamous Playboy magazine. What does, Jessica Alba, Claudia Shiffer, and Paris Hilton all have in common? This is besides the fact they are movie star pop icons. All of them appeared on the cover of Playboy. None of them were naked.

Why is Jessica so angry? She preconceives Playboy acting deceptively. "Playboy has violated my personal rights and blatantly misled the public, who might think I had given them permission to put me on their cover when I didn't," Alba, 24, said.

We all know being on the cover of Playboy can either break or make your career, and how quickly Disney Pictures will drop you at the slightest inclination that you are in fact in an Issue of Playboy; naked or not. Barbra Streisand was the first female celebrity to pose for the Playboy cover. Rumors state that she suddenly whipped off her shoes and socks, grinned at the editors and said, "Hey, guys, now you can say I took it off for PLAYBOY!" Obviously this did not break her career but did stir up some controversy.

Be it so humble, it is apparent that Jessica Alba does not need nor want superfluous publicity, in particular of that from Playboy. Jessica's lawyers say, that she even refused to pose for Playboy, and that the magazine deceptively tricked Sony Pictures into giving them a publicity photo from the 2005 film "Into the Blue" for their cover. If this was Playboy's true intent to sell a false impression, Alba to star naked in the March issue; then it should be pulled.

If Jessica Alba wants to retain a certain reputation, it is her choice. Playboy still attempted, and succeeded to get a picture of Jessica Alba even after she bluntly refused to do a cover interview with them. Playboy tries to hide behind their spokeswoman who said, "Alba was placed on the cover after being chosen "sexiest star of the year" by its readers." Regardless, and bluntly Playboys deceiving ways got a publicity photo of Alba, printed, and issued her on the cover.

Playboy is known for its celebrity type interviews and they still have a long lasting reputation of issues with women naked, topless, etc. It is Jessica's right to choice, just ask Disney how guilty by association can rear its horns. Whether many celebrities have chosen to be on the issue and cover of Playboys' magazine, this was not Jessica Alba's choice. Based on these two variables alone, the second being how they deceptively got a publicity photo, and ran it despite Jessica's refusal, they should be in hot water. Go get them girlfriend.
