My Radio Doesn't Work Now!

Author: Tommy Sessions

You are one happy lady today.

You just launched "Sarah's Advertisement Agency" a few months back, and today is the large ad for the 'Summerville Resort.'

You will be able to listen to it for the first time, this morning on your way to work.

As you crank the engine of your Chevy Caprice you can't wait to turn the radio on.

Whoa! What's wrong with the radio? It doesn't work.

Then you remembered you had left the lights on and run the battery down, and Zack, your 16 year old took the battery off and carried it to the repair shop in town and had it charged.

He must have left the wires to the radio undone.

"Oh, Zack, how could you have done that, at this time!?"

It wasn't Zack's fault, probably... unless he was a trained technician in automotive, or a professional 'thief' he would not know that you have an 'anti-thief' radio.

Anytime the battery current is disconnected to the radio it goes into an 'inoperative mode'.

That is to render it 'useless' to anyone who might be low enough to steal it... they can't sell it if it doesn't work!

No problem, except you'll have to wait till you get to the office to listen to your advertisement... you can just drop by the GM dealership in town and get the code for the radio so you can re-program it.

Or let the technicians there reprogram it for you... but write those numbers down and keep them, just in case you have battery problems again.

But, do not leave them in the glove box or console with the title "Codes for the radio" written at the top... if a thief wants the radio, he surely will want the 'code'.
